With HIV medicines, it’s really important not to miss a dose. Or to stop taking your medicines — such as going on a “drug holiday” — without talking to your healthcare provider. By failing to dose properly, you risk making your HIV medicines not work as well, and that means risking a rise in your viral load.
But sometimes you may just plain forget to take a dose, especially if your schedule suddenly changes. If you miss a dose of CRIXIVAN:
Sometimes you may want to sleep in — the weekends come to mind. Set the alarm to wake you up to take your dose of CRIXIVAN—you can then go back to bed.
In any case, when you miss a dose of CRIXIVAN, try to take it within two hours of your scheduled time.
If you miss a dose of one of your other HIV medicines, check the manufacturer's information about that medicine, or call your healthcare provider.
